When the writing bug bites...

Let me get this straight, just because blogging is the"in" thing nowadays (thanks to brian gorell, kitty go, bryanboy, chuvaness, and the late chikatime) that doesn't mean i should have one also. I've been blogging way back in 2004 ,though the website where i first posted my blog closed down, which in turn lead me to Friendster blogging and Multiply. Now I closed my Multiply account (it sucks i tell you, better stick to Friendster) and I almost delete all my post on Friendster and now I end up here in Blogger (clap! clap!) which was way much better than the previous websites. Since I started this little addiction of mine (i.e. writing) I've been wondering why on earth do I write. My sister even laugh on the idea that I write (much the same as me speaking in English), but eventhough i can't write as good as others, feel ko im a born writer (those who agree with me please raise your hand). Also with blogging, I can say what I have to say and if my best buddy casper is tired of listening to my whimsical and wacky antics in life I can still release this enthusiasm thru blogging (gets nio ba what i mean?).

If you read most of my article here you will notice that my writing sucks. Yup, that's true, its sucks, but that's the least of my priorities. As long as im having fun writing and i can say what i want to say, that's all that matter =P. Screw them. Hahahaha

Ever since i was in elementary I really wanted to be a writer, but with a grade not exceeding 83 on English subject gives me an idea that I should stick where I best excel..Math (yabang!!!) and forget about my journalistic dream. So what i did was I befriend most of the journalist/editorial staff of our school newspaper. In elementary it was Robert Siao and Harold Jaqueca, in High School there was Cathy Bolonia and Eunice Rivera and in college William Sarmiento (though Yam is not a member of any school newspaper but this guy is so witty and fluent in English, he's a member of the college's theather guild by the way). Gosh, I do admire this people when writing is concern. Then now in yuppyworld i met a lot of great writer like our very own Delo F., Erwin B., Chin P., Edna D., and some of my friends in Tuloy and Lingkod.

Now, our cute office newspaper include me to their rooster of columnist, as an Entertainment contributor, how cool was that huh!?! I do hope with this writing stint my writing skills will be honed and eventually ill have the guts to say whenever someone asked me if I have a blog by saying "OPKORS AKO PA!".

3rd CLP Night: The power of the Holy Spirit

I've been attending Christian Life Program (CLP) of Ang Lingkod sa Panginoon-Alabang (Lingkod for short) for 3 consecutive Wednesday and the topics was God's Love (1st), Jesus Christ and His Mission (2nd), What It Means To Be a Christian (3rd), The power of the Holy Spirit (4th) (I've missed the first topic that's why I only attended 3 consecutive Wednesday ), but the 4th topic really strikes me the most.
The Holy Spirit..hmmm..the other member of God's Trinity..it's so well known a school in Mendiola was even named after it. Im not a bible geek but I do know that the Holy Spirit was mentioned in the baptism of Jesus in River Jordan (thanks to St. John the Baptist) and came to him in a form of a dove, and during the Pentecost when the tongue of fire blessed the Apostle's of Christ and give them supernatural, este great gift of preaching (and the ability to speak different language din). Oh diba, ang cool!!! The Holy Spirit gives men the courage and strength to preach the word of God to other people. Kaya nga I was wondering if the Preachers and Priest of today have theri H.S. in full blast kasi they have the ability and the wisdom to teach and evangelize us about the word of God. Now don't get me wrong ha, its not only the gift of preaching ang nagagawa ng Holy Spirit, there's a lot of grace this H.S. gives to us (which i cannot enumerate coz im not that familiar padin with it), that's why im going to focus on what i've learned last night about the grace of the Holy Spirit which is "change of hearth and nature".

(Omaygasablegas, this will take long to read so please bear with me ha!)

After returning here in the Philippines I found myself disconnected from God. Well, before I was sent to the land of Alibaba and Aladin I know for a fact that I have a big issue with God. It got worse when I was in abroad. No church, no Catholic ministry, no community to talk to, plus the fact that temptation and sin is so prevalent in our place (mistress, vices {oppss no pun intended to mr. you-know-who-you-are}, addiction, gambling, etc.) you can have it as simple as buying cigarette in the sari-sari store (in our case in the local chekua store {mukha kasing intsik ung seller}). I totally didn't pray, even forgot how to pray the rosary nga eh, but in fairness to me I do thank God always when something good happen to me and I've been a very good boy (sometimes*wink*) din.
So when I returned here im in total wreck, spiritually, vices here and there, temptation, materialistic concerns, etc. As a matter of fact since landing here in Pinas I haven't been to church yet (as in normal Sunday mass!!!!!!). Then one day I woke up exhausted, depressed, sad. I even consulted our in house nurse to check if their's something wrong with me (buti nalang she said im ah-OK naman, so mental stress lang yan). I was looking for the answer for my anxieties in life. One day I prayed to Lord (yes i did pray for it for the first time) that sha nalang bahala sa buhay ko. I'll leave it up to you Lord. You're in charge now. And he did controlled me by introducing me to Tuloy sa Don Bosco.....
In Tuloy, i've seen God and his kindness in the eyes of the kids. I believe God has awaken my Holy Spirit (which maybe became stagnant for quite sometime) and give me the change of hearth and nature by becoming a volunteer in Tuloy. Total conversion I tell you. It's like my life turn a 180 degrees (hey JP, remeber this term in our sharing time, so sorry talaga ha for explaining it to you what's the meaning of it, eh alam mo naman pala! hehehe peace bro!) From being the annoying, grumpy,sarcastic,hot-headed kind of person that I am it changed me to become mellow and patience kind of person. Since then I started to reconnect my life to God again, and I know this will be a long process. Slowly but surely ika nga. With the help of the Holy Spirit who constantly giving me the courage and will, just like the apostles, I believe in return I'll be a better man and will also preach the love of God to everyone and inspire them as well to become a good Christian.

Amen and Godbless us all with the power of the Holy Spirit.

Saturday Trip

(I really want to write this article today coz baka mawala yung enthusiasm ko sa pagsusulat come Sunday. That's why I'm contenting myself here in the crampy Netopis at Festival Mall just to write this article, and waiting also for the rain to stop coz I didn't bring umbrella with me now)

Today, Saturday, Me and Jasper and Randy troop to Batangas city to attend the christening of his baby boy which was scheduled at 9:30 am at one of the hotel in Batangas. After I saw the time of christening in the invitation I said to myself "Goodluck" for all you know (i.e. who read my blog), waking up early on a weekend is a huge task for me, then last night pa I went home at1:30 am na! Though walang pagsisisi coz the fellowship and the eating out at Jollibee with the Lingkod Brother and Sister was so much fun!

Funny, I woke up early today (5:30 that is) and didn't feel any sleepy at all! Wow! Amazing, I exclaimed to myself (though I want to shout this feeling of mine on the top of our rooftop kaso the neighbor might throw their pillows at me for waking them up). After taking bath and quick chat with my parents I immediately zoomed awayto Alabang to meet up Jasper and Randy.

The trip and the service was ah OK. We enjoy the whole duration of our stay in Batangas city and Tolits evengraciously toured us in their place. We even tracked Vicevar's house though sadly he was not there (He's at SM together with his family). Nevertheless it was fun parin!

Now I'm here in Festival, waiting for the rain to stop. Kahit na my day end up with monsoon rain I still enjoy my day, and together with my orange baloon we will go home happy and colorful!

Wednesday...

Wow! It's Wednesday again! Kaybilis naman ng panahon. It's another Christian Life Program night with the Lingkod Alabang family. Eventhough the program last week was quite short (8:30-10:00pm) I must admit I really enjoy their fellowship. I'll try to take down notes during the fellowship, maybe I can ponder it over kapag nasa bahay nako (or maybe in the future, who knows). Many Thanks talaga kay Ate Rosa for bringing me here.

Ganun ata talaga, when you're on the crossroads of your life and you'll have to choose between good and evil, things like like this (re: CLP) will come and guide you on the right path.

Buti nalang i choose the former.

=)

Godbless to us all

Baby Talk

My Ate delivered her second baby earlier before noontime. Nanay told me that Baby Girl is currently sleeping now in the Nursery room. Can't wait to see our new family member. I do hope she'll grow up as kulet as her Kuya Justine para madami na ang makulet na bata (at matanda) sa family (re:Justine, Me, Tatay).
And speaking of baby, my good friend Tolits invited me and Jasper for the binyag of his second son, Yey! Kainan na naman! But the reception will be held in Batangas City this coming Saturday! Goodluck to me and Jasper, sana we won't get lost and end up in Camarines Sur instead!
Another thing, it just a sad note though, my cousin She's wedding this Saturday won't push thru. It turns out (i think, sabi ni nanay eh) that the guy chicken out! O diba, last minute decision pa sha, maybe it's not yet her time to tie the knot, i mean she's young and talented, marami pa naman iba dyan (not that im insisting them to part ways!). Oh well, better luck next time sis. Treat nalang kita sa labas pag nagkita tayo hokey =).

End of the day...

Hay, its almost time here at the boring office. Drank 2 glass of coffee though (which is unsual to me), finished my another project at last, did a little bit of errand outside the building, meet good old friends who come here for a work visit. Looking forward to tonight's activity, party at our Boss house and first time visit to the Lingkod family. Can't wait till it gets 5, I'm starving!
