Para mailabas ko ang inis ko sa aking trabaho at co-workers kahapon eh naisipan kong pumunta sa bayan ng Al-Khobar at mag-ikot ikot. After 15 minutes of walking para maabot ang bayan at makabili ng bente pirasong pan-de-coco eh napadaan ako sa tindahan ng mediacom karaoke.Hmmmm..naisip ko since uuwi naman ako sa Pinas at para mas masaya ang dec. 24 at 25 sa bahay eh why not bumili ako ng videoke. It's been ages since na nagkaroon ng videoke sa bahay, VHS tape pa ata ang ginagamit namin dati para lang mag videoke hehehe.

So after kong itesting ang videoke at magbayad sa cashier eh umuwi akong masaya, at least kahit hindi maganda ang araw ko sa work eh napasaya naman ako ng pan-de-coco at ng mediacom hehe.

Pagdating sa bahay, agad kong sinuri ang laman ng songbook, nakalimutan ko pala tignan kung kasama dito ang favorite kong kanta sa videoke na hanggang ngayon ay hindi pako nakaka 100 points. And after checking the songbook, voila, meron nga..yahoo!

Ang drama anoh?

Seriously, this song is very sentimental to me, The first time I sang this was before I graduated from college. I have a premonition at that time that my relationship with someone would end up just like what stated in the second paragraph of the lyrics. And ayun nga, after graduation it did happened to me . Sigh. =(.

Eventhough the break-up was indeed painful, i managed to survive it and now we're very good friends. And everytime i sing this song i always remember to keep in mind that whenever a relationship end we should always move on. Mourn for it for a week, cry if you like, maglabas ka ng sama ng loob pero after that we must still move on.

Thank God I did and now I'm happy =D.

When Anxiety Attack

A couple of days ago, i was confunded by a tremendous anxiety attack while here @ Saudi Arabia. i was very anxious (more to my normal self) on personal decisions and certain actions that i asked myself:

is this for real?
is this the right thing?
why do i have to do this?

there's no time to ponder if this action is right or wrong, there is no turning back once you're there on that situation. i just say a little prayer asking the lord "pls forgive me".

and i believe god never let his sheep gone astray. i've been a good boy naman for quiet sometime.

an hour passed.nothing happen.
second hour... nada
until i finally succumbed to sleep..and i must say it was one of my best sleep ever.

the next day, the thought still circling on my mind. maybe yesterday was not the day. maybe today or tomorrow, or the day after tomorrow.

thank god nothing happen even after the day after tomorrow.

yesterday, i was talking to my good friend floro over the fone and confess to him this certain problem. he told me that god's love is far bigger than your sins. no matter how you have sin, when you repent about it, surely god will forgive you. and then he talks something about sins and forgiveness and some very deep religious term that i cannot even understand it already (hahaha, sorry bro, you really lived up to your desire to be a priest). But the only thing that i understand from his sermon was god loves me, dont do it again.period.

and my motto for that "JUST SAY NO!"

and now, after days of anxiety and nervousness over some thing. i finally have some peace.

The story of the deaf frog and Mr. Compliment Guy

Naalala nio paba yung kwento about a group of frogs who fell on a deep well (or anything basta malalim) then each one of them tried to get to the surface but they end up dead by doing so and their frog friends in the surface keep on telling this one frog to stop jumping coz he'll be killed by doing it but eventually he manage to jump to the surface alive. And when the surface frog ask this survivor why he didn't follow their instruction to stop jumping and come-what-may-wait-and-see-attitude nalang he respond to them "i can't hear you coz im deaf".

Basta the story goes like that...

Anyway, the moral of the story is what we say can either make or break a person. Though actions speaks louder than words pero what goes out in our mouth sometimes can either be helpful or destructive to other people.

Gets nio ba?

I just remember this story after watching the season 8 episode 1 of The Family Guy last night (try to watch that show, it’s so hilarious!). Bryan and Stewie were transported in another universe where there is only one living man, and this man is called Mr. Compliment guy (or something). All he say is compliments and pampalakas ng loob kind of words to Stewie and Stewie want to stay on that universe coz he thinks it’s the best. Then it hit me, is our way of talking really affects other peoples life?

After watching the show, I ponder the lesson in the cartoon and the story of the deaf frog, and applied it to my personal life. Well, to be honest, I’m not the best person who compliments other people, nor give them good advice or words of wisdom. If I we’re in that frog story maybe I’m one of the “surface frog” who discourage the deaf frog not to jump. One “surface frog kind-of-attitude” I did was just recently, before I went here @ KSA and thank God my friend had a severe case of deaf ear coz he did not listen to me hahaha!

Now he’s living in a place where he found his true happiness, and I’m so proud and happy for him.

The point is, whatever we say or express to other people, whether you’re making an opinion or just plain being tactless, it still affects other people’s life whether on a positive way or the negative way =D. Well as for me, I’m trying to let go my “surface frog kind-of-attitude” and be the “Mr. Compliment guy” nalang. I think the later is much more fun than the former.

Homers and Horses....The Fallen Sculptures

After entering the Gate of Nations, we find ourselves in a long pathway. Turns out this was the passageway/walkway leading to the inner rooms of the palace.

While taking this picture, we were almost kick out of Persepolis coz Jasper was standing on an ancient stone on the side of the road.It was prohibited to do such thing coz we might break it.

According to my Iranian friend, the icon on the column (a bird like type) was called Homer and this is an ancient symbol of Iranian mythology. This icon is very well used in their country.

And according to the movie i've seen about Persepolis, there were almost a hundred types of this icon standing on a long column on the hallway. Sadly only a few item remained intact after it was destroyed during the occupation of Alexander the Great.

Another scuplture that can be seen above the columns except the Homers are these two faced Horses. Yep, they are big and i wonder how a cloumn can support this massive piece of sculpture.

The statue of this horse shows how the kings loves their horses. Intricate design for a horse signifies that the kings highly regarded his horse as to a common man loves his dog. Archeologist re-constructed it to show how beautifully they made it.

This section shows the base of the columns where the iconic Homer and the two-faced horses once stood. Even the base are elaborately designed, same as the columns.

Massive boulder of rock was used maybe for the two-faced horse. Here's an example:

We woke up 7:00am and had a sumptous breakfast, courtesy of sir jun
and ian, while watching Destiny's Child concert on DVD. By 8:00
we're on our way to Persepolis. But before we arrive on the said
complex, our driver took us first on a trip to the city of Shiraz.

First stop was the 18th century citadel of Karim Khan-e Zand which
is located on the city center. This majestic citadel stands
majestically in the city square, and a popular venue for concerts
and plays. Sadly when we're about to visit inside the citadel
it was still closed and to be open during afternoon time only.

Next stop was the Qur'an Gate, according to wikipedia (hehehe)
this gate was part of a big citadel/palace located on the same
area but was destroyed during the course of time. Now this gate
is a famous picnic grounds of Shirazis and favorite camp site of
the citizens of Iran as well. A lot of campers was there in the parks
when we got there (since they have 2 holidays) and a lot of kids were
approaching us and asking for pictures. It's my first time people a
ctually approach me and ask for my picture!eventhought they thought
i'm a Japanese.

After taking some pictures of Qur'an Gate, we drove ourself to
Persepolis, but along the way we've seen this very peculiar
building that is still under construction.Later we we're informed
it was named Shiraz grand hotel and tend to be a 5 star hotel
that will cater foreign tourist who will visit the famous Persepolis.
Hmm..i'll bet its expensive to stay on that hotel =D.

My way or the Hi-way..Iranian style

It was September 2006 when me and some colleagues at JGC South Pars project decided to have a short vacation in one of Iran's famous tourist spot. Sir Jhun, our department secretary, arrange all our travel documents and accomodations and food (such a nice person he is!) and all we have to do is sit back and relax pay the fees for the transpo and the lodging.





















We leave our camp in Assaluyeh 2:00pm Thursday doing only half day in the office. Friday is holy day in Iran (like Sunday here in Philippines)but still we came to work as well (sayang O.T.). and Saturday is national holiday in iran (and yet we still went to work, o.t. again!). That's our itinerary actually, leave the camp by Thursday afternoon and return back to camp by Saturday evening.

We have 3 cars, and each car has 5 passengers (including driver). I was grouped with the younger guys (best buddy Jasper include). The trip from Assaluyeh to Shiraz (the main city before Persepolis, and where our gracious host is located) is 12 hours! I'ts very uncomfortable sitting on a Toyota corolla because it doesn't have enough space to move on (plus the fact that my friends are slightly chubby persons!).

First stop of the trip was Kangan, 50kms from Assulyeh. We need to stop here to buy snacks and to go to washroom. Nothing much was to be seen here except the store that sells gold jewelry. Jewelry sshopping is a must in Kangan for they had the famous iranian Gold (or something to that effect) on a very low price. No, we did not buy gold when we pass this place since the stores are located in the southwest portion of the city, near the sea actually.

After snacks and freshen up, we endure the 10 ten hour drive on the Iranian countryside, vast desserts, wide highways that traverse the Zagros Mountains, beautiful oasis, quite countryside and a lot of sheeps and goats!

(Actually during the whole trip, i was praying the rosary because the driver drives very very fast! You can't blame them, they have 6 lanes road, asphalt and lubak free highway and no traffic!)

It was 10:00 pm when we had out dinner in a restaurant somewhere along the way. The place is great because it's situated on the top of the mountain (ala baguio) so it's cold, and we buy fresh kiwis, pistacios, apples and grapes. The usual specialty of every iranian resto is KEBAB,whether chicken or beef it still delicious,
and that what we've ordered.This is the start pala of our KEBAB diet since we've aten kebab during the whole duration of our travel. Notice the wall design of the resto,they are very fond of decorating their wall with tiles with drawing.
Yes the same tile we use in our washroom but with very colorful and intricate design naman.

After dinner we continue our journey again to Shiraz and after 2 hours we finally made it to the house in Shiraz. After some pleasant greetings and some hello to the owner, we decided to sleep and be ready for the next day, after all we have a whole
palace to visit tomorrow =D.

The week that was..

1. Make a facebook account.
2. Got into advance scheme training program at the office coz the managers think our group we're bored at our work (i.e. petiks)...
3. Then eventually after the first training session, tons of work came to our group.
4. Went to Market2x to finally look at the boxes for abubot, that i didn't buy coz it was so expensive (imagine the shoe box size box is 350 pesos!).
5. Visited our confined manager,who had a stroke on his first day of work last week, at the hospital and knowing he's okay na pala.
6. First AG and Thursdaykaberks meet-up.
7. Post Thursdaykaberks Christmas Party at Kuya Ef house wearing cocktail attire...
8. Where we received our post Christmas gifts from kuya Ef and ate G.
9. Service at Bilibid Prison over the weekend.
10. Bed @ 9pm for a goodnight sleep =D.

Ang babaw di ba? Pero this kind of little things really makes me happy.

And I believe more happy moments will come coz malapit na birthday ko, hehehe.

Hello!

Hi everyone! I'm back! For those who miss me during the holiday and concerned why I'd didn't post anything during the two week Christmas vacation, here's the reasons why....

1. I enjoy and treasured my 2 weeks vacation. After 3 years slavery to the corporate world and construction industry this is the first time that i really had a vacation. Yep, I did had a 1 or 2 days (3 days max) vacation but a two week vacation is like heaven sent, or should i say Gloria sent.

2. I play babysitter to my niece. It's hard but it's worth it. Sort like practice for me in the near future.

3. Helping out, giving advices and offer prayers to friends in need. Diba there's a saying "A friend in need is a friend indeed".

4. A long chat with my sisters. I missed chatting up with my sisters, specially my soon-to-be-abogada sister. It's really funny to talk to them coz we just talk anything, from showbiz (tim yap and regine velasquez our favorite topic) to law to personal life.

5. HBO.Jack TV.CNN.Travel and Living.MTV.Channel V.Nick.Enuf said.

6. Doing household chores.

7. Meeting up old friends. Did succesfully meet up with my college buddies and went off to Tagaytay for the much needed kwentuhan at kainan. Then high school friends invite me for a christmas party/mini reunion with them. Sad but i didn't make it coz I was in Cabanatuan with some friends, but I promised I'll be there in their next mini reuninon. Then hooked up again with my old college pal who is a very good friend of mine.

8. Gimmiks! Enuf said ulit. =D.

9. Prayer time 0:D.

10. Reading blogs. Im still connected with the blogosphere during the holidays but really very lazy to post one. It's hard to miss the entries of Doc Rio, The dOng, Blogusvox, The professional heckler and Ate Mungs.

New year, New Hope, New Activities, New Plans.

For 2009, whatever you have on your sleeve, i have one thing to say.....LET'S GET IT ON!

Chapter 6: It's a small world after all in Disneyland

Dineyland, every kids dream vacation get-away and any other parents worst nightmare, hahaha! Just kidding. Dineyland really is a place for kids,where they can relate to the Disney princess, lilo and stitch, Tarzan, Mickey Mouse and friends, and a whole lot of other disney characters that I don't even know who they are!

I must admit, a day after we went from ocean park, i was very disappointed with the rides in disneyland. The rides here catered mostly for the kids age 10 years old and below. If you don't fall on that category you'll definitely die in boredom. Thank God for the camera, dun nalang kami bumawi, taking pictures on every side of the park.

Oh, one thing that I enjoy being here is seeing Mickey Mose and Friends in person! Yey! We didn't catch Mickey to have our picture taken but we had some pictures from Tigger, Goofy and Stich. And we did see the Disney Princess (Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella) but didn't get any picture together with them coz we ran up of time.

The main attraction of Disneyalnd is the magical fireworks display complete with sounds and lights performace. Ganda! The program last for about 15 minutes, and during this time i was filming it so imagine how ngawit I was while filming it (i was holding my camera way up high for like 15 mintes!!!).

In the end, I realize that Disneyland is really a magical place to be, where you can be a kid even for a day, by just wishing upon a star, making no difference who you are.....
