Hooray for Beyonce!!!

For the record, I really really love Beyonce. Way back Destiny Child days i already have a crush on her, and when she goes solo and with the release of her single "Crazy in Love" (plus music video), i was totally crazy in love with her. Tall, Black American, with tantalizing eyes (i have issues with tantalizing eyes, fyi) and a very powerful voice, what more can you ask for. My older sister also have a girl-crush on Beyonce actually, but i didn't go too far to buy all her albums nor buy every magazine where she's a cover. I just download her album over the net (sorry beyonce!) and store it in my i-pod. After the release of her second album, i somewhat notice that she's a little bit thinner than before and she doesn't look good as before. I even compare her current photo (during that time) and the one wherein she's the cover girl of some sports magazine (sports illustrated i think) and you can see the difference. From then on my crush on Beyonce started to fade.

Then now she release her new album "I am Sasha Fierce" (correct me if im wrong) and lo and behold, she's back to her orginal form! Voluptous and ultra sexy. And I'm in love again. Hahahaha. Her new single "Put a ring on it" has been topping the charts and the music video is so sexy and catchy,a trademark of Beyonce actually.

Damn, if I we're jay-Z, i'll be the happiest guy in the whole world!

Love is in the air

After the December holidays, i always look forward for Valentine week,i.e. for me it officially starts on my birthday till the V-day itself. Yes, i may not be the most romantic person on earth (heck, i think i need to read Twilight para maging romatic ulit) but just the feeling of everybody is in love on Valentines month is a happy feeling for me narin =D.

Yikes! Mushy alert!

Even single guys can enjoy the Valentine fever, there are many ways to celebrate it like:

1. Treat your family on a good dinner (whether in-house or outside).
2. Go out with single friends. Malay mo, your true love pala is in your inner circle of friends.
3. Go to church and pray...and if possible go to a confession. Love of God is more than enough.
4. Serve the less fortunate people.
5. Watch feel good movie (a Piolo-Angel tandem or Richard-Kc will do). Basta hindi ako kasama ha coz i might die watching it.

And for those who have a special someone right now, here are my tips for a easy-low- budget-but-still-romantic way of dating on V-day like:

1. A HHWWPSSP in Manila Parks and tourist spots. I suggest You start your walk from the Manila City hall, then enter Intramuros from Mapua side then stroll the Intramuros walls until you reach Manila Cathedral and if you have spare money, try to enter Fort Santiago as well. A visit to Rizal park and watch the sunset in Manila Bay is a classic!
If you despise walking under the heat of the sun why not visit the air-conditioned National Museum. Not only you'll see some of our national treasure but you can also appreciate arts and crafts here. Oh by the way, before I forgot, while doing HHWWPSSP why not doing it while eating fishball at gulaman. Masamang maglakad at mamasyal ng gutom. =P

2. If you really need to date and eat outside, why not visit Binondo restos for authentic Chinese cuisine. A friend told me that the cost of food in Binondo restos are quite cheap compare to that in the malls or in your favorite hangouts.

3. If you have a car and want to spend your V-day in a different way, why not go on a joyride. Example: if you're living in Las Pinas why not go to Tagaytay then exit in Sta.Rosa Laguna then C5 going to Antipolo for overlooking. The only catch here is you should have money for gasoline =D. And for a change, try to eat the Bulalo in Tagaytay or the exotic foods of Antipolo.

4. Tambay in The Fort Taguig or UP-Diliman campus while eating fishball at gulaman parin!

5. Pasig River cruise. Just for the sake of trippings. =D.

As for me, since I'm very much single thank-you-very-much, I'm planning to spend it with my family (Awwwwwww...)nalang. That is,it depends, if i fall in love between now and on V-day. Hahahaha!

Peace!

Moral Lesson from Ugly Betty

Last night, since i was incredibly home early after my workout at the gym,i've spent most of my free time channel surfing over cable. After 3 rounds of channel hoping i decided that there's no worth seeing kind of show on cable, so i check local television, and lo and behold guess what show i've stuck watching last night.

Ugly Betty on Channel 23.

Since i've seen and religiously watch Betty La Fea (the original betty from Bogota) when I was young and heard great reviews about it (re:Ugly Betty) i said to myself why not give it a try to watch this one.

Well, the show was fun and witty. Not so Friends-type-of-comedy nor Melrose Place-kind-of-drama. The story last night started when the father of Daniel Meade (he's the boss of Mode magazine) is getting buried and Wilhelmina (she works also for Mode amgazine) destroyed Mode by relea sing a deadly virus in the computer system erasing all the files for their upcoming printing. Then the part that struck me the most is when all the staff are converging to try salvaging what's left on their articles and photos is where Wilhelmina enters and announcing her new self styled magazine and she's recruiting new staff. Promising salary raise, benefits like dental and cosmetics (this is the part where many staff REALY transfer to Wilhelmina, bonuses, etc. Many staff trasfered eventually, leaving Mode with few loyal staff, and as Wilhelmina says "You're like the orchestra who still play song on the Titanic while it was sinking and drowned".

So, what's the moral lesson of the story boys and girls?

Is't the revenge action of Wilhelmina? Remember the banner theme of Kill Bill 1: "Revenge is a dish best serve cold"

Hindi naman moral lesson yun!

What really struck me was the loyalty of those who remain in Mode magazine eventhough they are on the brink of collapse due to the damage cause by the virus. I remember a few years ago when I was in the same situation, broke, down, problematic, sad, the only people that really stick to me is my family and a few friends, very few, 2 people to be exact who really see me during my lowest point. That's a great slump considering i have at least a minimum of 100 so-called friends in my phonebook.I take that experience as an awakening moment in my life. It's not really true when you're friend tells you they will stick to you thru thick and thin, you have to experience one to know one.

As for me, im now, more wiser than before and I'm glad that the people I've met are consistently always there when i need them and in return i'm always here, one text away, when they needed me.

Lesson of Obedience

This is a story about a young boy and how he learned the lesson of obedience.

One day, the boy meet a pretty young girl in a party. Young boy fell in love with the Pretty young girl. Call it love at first sight, or somewhat cheesy, or infatuation, but Young boy immediately fall in love with the Pretty girl. After the party, Young boy ask Pretty girl if he can walk her to her house and get her number. Pretty Lady obliged, since she thinks there's nothing wrong about it, in fact she thinks it's very polite of the young boy to bring her to her house.

After the party, Young boy send messages to Pretty girl. Then they became good friends in which Young Boy solidify her "love" to Pretty Girl. Pretty Girl was happy when he's with Young Boy. One day, young boy ask his older brother what he thinks about Pretty Girl, "Kuya, i think she's the one i've been looking for" to which older brother reply "Tol, i think you should evaluate your feelings, you cannot say that you love her just like that, you still have some issues about yourself and jumping to a relationship will even make your life complicated. I suggest you take time to think on what you feel, enjoy your friendship first, include your feelings and include her on your prayer, be discreet on what you feel, and most of all don't fall in love with the "love" idea.

After hearing this, young boy was outraged, "how can my older brother, my supposedly bestfriend, tries to break my feelings with her", the boy exclaimed. He was very confused both by the way that he feels and what his older brother had said.

Sad and angry, he still obeyed what his older brother had said. He thinks over and over on how he feels with the pretty lady. After days of contemplating and praying on his feelings he finally succumbed to the idea that his feeling was just an infatuation. It was just an object of extravagant short-lived passion with the Pretty Girl. Relieved, he explain to Pretty Girl about what he feels, and to his suprise Pretty Girl was happy with that idea, that he finally realized on what his real intention to her.

Young Boy thanked his Older Brother for his advice to which his kuya replied 'hey, that's what i'm here for". Young boy and pretty Girl became the best of friends from then on, and even attended each others wedding. And they did live happily ever after, with different spouses of course.

The End

Hello!

Hi everyone! I'm back! For those who miss me during the holiday and concerned why I'd didn't post anything during the two week Christmas vacation, here's the reasons why....

1. I enjoy and treasured my 2 weeks vacation. After 3 years slavery to the corporate world and construction industry this is the first time that i really had a vacation. Yep, I did had a 1 or 2 days (3 days max) vacation but a two week vacation is like heaven sent, or should i say Gloria sent.

2. I play babysitter to my niece. It's hard but it's worth it. Sort like practice for me in the near future.

3. Helping out, giving advices and offer prayers to friends in need. Diba there's a saying "A friend in need is a friend indeed".

4. A long chat with my sisters. I missed chatting up with my sisters, specially my soon-to-be-abogada sister. It's really funny to talk to them coz we just talk anything, from showbiz (tim yap and regine velasquez our favorite topic) to law to personal life.

5. HBO.Jack TV.CNN.Travel and Living.MTV.Channel V.Nick.Enuf said.

6. Doing household chores.

7. Meeting up old friends. Did succesfully meet up with my college buddies and went off to Tagaytay for the much needed kwentuhan at kainan. Then high school friends invite me for a christmas party/mini reunion with them. Sad but i didn't make it coz I was in Cabanatuan with some friends, but I promised I'll be there in their next mini reuninon. Then hooked up again with my old college pal who is a very good friend of mine.

8. Gimmiks! Enuf said ulit. =D.

9. Prayer time 0:D.

10. Reading blogs. Im still connected with the blogosphere during the holidays but really very lazy to post one. It's hard to miss the entries of Doc Rio, The dOng, Blogusvox, The professional heckler and Ate Mungs.

New year, New Hope, New Activities, New Plans.

For 2009, whatever you have on your sleeve, i have one thing to say.....LET'S GET IT ON!

Happy New Year to All!!!

Twilight

I'm trying to read the "Twilight" novel by Stephenie Meyer, thanks to the rave reviews I've been hearing from the radio to the starbucks going people. Curiosity inspired, i tried to read the book earlier (heck, it's our last day here in the office and I'm done cleaning my table, and there's nothing else to do) and reading chapter 1 "First Sight', i've come into conclusion that this book will be like another 'Sweet Valley High" kind of book. Before I kill myself to boredom I stop reading it.

Yikes. The romantic persona of me is totally dead (or was suck by Mr. Cullen).

It's past my bedtime and I'm still out...

For the record, since last week I only got 5 hours of sleep a day. Blame it to the parties, simbang gabi,. midnight sale at tiangge (btw, im just accompanying a friend of mine whenever we went to a tiangge),fellowships, phone chats, cable shows which i religiously attended all, for me to really experience the christmas cheers. Though it's really hard to wake up at 6am, so that i can be at the office at 7.15am to get the prized parking area at the basement of our building, I must admit i don't feel any sleepy moments at the office (well, maybe it's because of the huge volume of workload i have right now i don't have time to be sleepy). And I ENJOY all this activities that i do, heck it's christmas, as Kuya Germs would always say...'WALANG TULUGAN!".

Problem is I might dozed off on Christmas Eve (which always happen to me fyi), so tonight, my plan is to be out till past midnight and then dozed off till lunch time tomorrow. Will do the cleaning chores and the iho-bili-ka-naman-ng-pineapple-chunks-sa-grocery-para-sa-macaroni-salad-natin chores later in the afternoon.

As for me, i'll be spending my christmas eve morning with my bed and pillow.

Great Words of Wisdom ni Mr. Bob Ong

another forwaded email na may sense =D
***************************************************

PAG-IBIG

mo.. Dapat lumandi ka din." [Yeah, boy! hahaha!]

BUHAY (IN GENERAL)

"nalaman kong hindi final exam ang passing rate ng buhay. hindi ito
multiple choice, identification, true or false, enumeration or
fill-in-the- blanks na sinasagutan kundi essay na isinusulat
araw-araw.

Rebeldeng

of World Records at maipagmalaki ng bansa natin, sige lang. Nosi
Kita mo yung moral lesson?"

eskwelahan e nagmumukha ring pandesal.

"Pare, isa kang totoong tao at walang halong kasinungalingan. In
English, FACT you, pare. Totoo ka. In English, FACT you !"

Christmas Rush!

OK, it's official, i'm in a state of panic. Christmas panic that is. With 6 days to go before Christmas I haven't bought gifts yet to friends and family. Well thank God i got into my sense to purchase the gifts for inaanak, but for friends i haven't yet! And today Friday, gifts starting to arrive at my desk, coming from officemates.

Me-feeling-guilty-right-now-for-not-giving-them-gifts.

Buti nalang i was dragged last night to go to Ruins in BF homes eventhough i was v.v.v. sleepy and tired (just got out of the gym and misa de gallo at Ayala Alabang) coz there I found a lot of gift items ideas na puede ipamudmod sa mga friends. Great!

But, since today is Friday and I want to spend my night with family and Saturday is Tuloy day and Sunday will be in Central Luzon with friends and Monday-Tuesday will be a cramming/filling/expediting/technical evaluation submission/cleaning time for me plus misa de gallo every 8 or 9 pm @ a church where i'm most near, mukhang it's impossible to buy gifts for my friends! =(

Tsk tsk tsk...talk about time management. Ironic coz I knew multi-tasking and project time management is my thing but for personal time management, bagsak pala ako!

Oh well, andyan naman si Sister. Will ask her to buy me gifts nalang...

Dude, what's in your car?

I've always been fascinated on how a typical car of a women always look good and fresh and clean and serene all the time.Well last night i've got a chance to be fascinated again when i rode the car of a friend coming from a makati fellowship. Her car is so clean and fresh inside and out, smells good also, its like you'll really gonna enjoy the ride once you getinto it.Compare her car to mine, mine looks like a "dugyot", or as my officemate would always tease me an FX taxi plying Alabang ATC-Lawton route.

Don't get me wrong though, I love my car, more than I love 2piece-chickenjoy-extra-rice-go-large-coke and cartoon-t-shirt-from-greenhills-tiangge-which-you-can-buy-for-250-pesos and family-guy-episodes combined. it's just that I can't make it clean...errr..tidy maybe (coz if i said its dirrttyy i woouldn't give justice to the sunday morning car cleaning schedule of my dear ama).

Anyway, earlier while I was on my way to work and stuck in a traffic, i made a quick glance at the interior of my car, doing a quick inventory as far as the eye could see and my mind to remember, and what I fond was (except of course for car accessories)...

1. gym bag, complete with gym shoes, gym apparel, gloves and energy drink. well this items are always in my car, so that if I have the urged to do some weights im always ready.

2. old receipts. yikes! i've stocked up a lot of receipts pala ranging from parking tickets, grocery and gasoline receipts.

3. metro manila road map. always come in handy when i neede to go somewhere.

4. stuff toys. its very useful actually. it keeps me concentrate on my driving when my niece are on board.

5. some accumulated trash coming from christmas parties, sporsfest events, gala, simbang gabi, etc.

I've read (coincidentally) in the newspaper this morning about guys and what's inside their cars. One guy says he has gym bag (same as mine),extra t-shirts,cologne,rubber shoes, sandals, old shoppign bag from his trip from macau, in his car. The other guys says his golf clubs is always a must-have in his car.

Come to think of it, it's not only me who have a untidy car pala (mandamay ba), i remember last friday when I rode the Fortunner of a very good friend going to Pasig, his car smells sweetend dilis. I asked him "did you ate dilis today?" which he replied "no, but maybe some of my passenger did", though it didn't bother him such thing (to think he's one of the most sosyal people in office and yet his car smells like dilis didn't affect him).
(who am i kidding, i tried eating chicharon with suka while driving in a very bumpy road!)

Well, clean or no clean, as long as it brings me to my destination, it's ok for me =D.

Chapter 6: It's a small world after all in Disneyland

Dineyland, every kids dream vacation get-away and any other parents worst nightmare, hahaha! Just kidding. Dineyland really is a place for kids, where they can relate to the Disney princess, lilo and stitch, Tarzan, Mickey Mouse and friends, and a whole lot of other disney characters that I don't even know who they are!

I must admit, a day after we went from ocean park, i was very disappointed with the rides in disneyland. The rides here catered mostly for the kids age 10 years old and below. If you don't fall on that category you'll definitely die in boredom. Thank God for the camera, dun nalang kami bumawi, taking pictures on every side of the park.

Oh, one thing that I enjoy being here is seeing Mickey Mose and Friends in person! Yey! We didn't catch Mickey to have our picture taken but we had some pictures from Tigger, Goofy and Stich. And we did see the Disney Princess (Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella) but didn't get any picture together with them coz we ran up of time.

The main attraction of Disneyalnd is the magical fireworks display complete with sounds and lights performace. Ganda! The program last for about 15 minutes, and during this time i was filming it so imagine how ngawit I was while filming it (i was holding my camera way up high for like 15 mintes!!!).

In the end, I realize that Disneyland is really a magical place to be, where you can be a kid even for a day, by just wishing upon a star, making no difference who you are.....

Chapter 5: Street Walk, the Hong Kong way

Exciting and Enjoyable, that's how i describe our sight seeing in Nathan Road Hong kong. You can also sense the security when your walking around the main streets of HK due to police visibility and maybe because 60% of the people on the streets are foreigners (i.e. caucasians). Eventhough there's a lot of people on the street, still sight seeing and window shop is a must to be able to enjoy the true HK spirit (i.e. people who love to shop).
