Life Lessons sa Nami Island

1. Life is full of suprises. Don't plan too much or way ahead of your schedule. Live life one day at a time. God has a more grandeur and magnificent plan than our own plan.

2. OK lang to be single or going solo once in a while, but don't dwell on it too much. As the old saying goes, "No man is an island". Also it's very hard to get solo picture when you're traveling alone!

3. Stop and smell the flowers when life is beginning to take a toll on you (and your health). Try to enjoy the simple (and free!) things in life.

4. Exercise! It's a great stress buster. Take it from a guy who works 8:00am-7:00pm on weekdays and 8:00am-5:00pm on weekends.

5. Fall in love and give your best. If it doesn't work out maybe she's/he's not meant for you. But please do try to save it though =)

6. If you're broken hearted, cry over it. Talk to friends. Ask for advice. Then cry more. One week is enough for grieving period. More than that is already fatal. Don't be tied up to a nonsense emotions.

7. Celebrate life! Enjoy life to the fullest as if it's your last. Work hard, Play harder. Go out and party, hang out with friends, serve the community, be with your family. Basta Enjoy lang. No bearing to sulk and holed up in your bedroom the whole day.

8. Love Mother Earth. Recycle. Reuse. Reorganized. We have only one planet and its a no brainer to take care of it.

9. Be fabulous. It doesn't need a lot of money to be one. Channel your inner strength and show your character. Be fab and be a winner!

10. Sing a song. Even if your voice is crooked or out of tune, still sing for joy. If singing is really not your forte play an instrument. A song for God is always in good tune.

11. Take a lot of picture. People, Sceneries, Food, and what not, take their picture. Ignore those people who tease you for taking too much picture (or even check-in on places you've visit). Good memories (via photos) are better than missed opportunity (to photograph it).

12. Stand up on what you believe and be firm on your decision. Though it's hard or have repercussion, still, standing up on what you believe will still give you a character and status.

13. Balance you life. There is enough time for work and play. OA if you're always at the confinement of your office.

14. Fact: Mother know best.

15. Reach for your dreams. No matter how high or impossible it may seem. If you set your goal on it, it is achievable.

16. Don't be afraid to learn new language. If you're on a travel to a foreign land, learn the local version of the word "Thank you". 

17. Find the perfect partner. It may take some time but it's all worth it. Don't settle for "puede na". It should be "Ito na".

18. Not all relationship sails on tame waters. Most of the times you will be tested. Welcome this as an opportunity to learn and be strong and to know more about you're partner. There will be more test once you're married.

19. At the end of the day, it's still nice to go home to your love one.

20. Just like the cherry blossoms, life is like a bloom fields. Let us make the most of it. Show our beauty and grandeur to other. Be an inspiration. Be a model. Be a servant. Be God's chosen people.

When Animals strike back (still in Nami Island!)

Remember what I told you on my last post re: makukulit na mga bagets? Well, this is where I found them when we're in Nami Island.

While I was taking pictures on the cute ostriches, some are inside the wooden fence while others are jus sitting outside, a bunch of noisy and rowdy kids arrived. 

These ostriches are outside the fence, sitting lazily and playing deadma sa mga tourist. Ang cute no?

But the kids keep on taunting the ostriches, even throwing stuff and shouting at the poor birds. It was pretty annoying though that's why I left. Also I'm afraid that the ostriches might fight back. The last thing I want to do is spend a time in a hospital on my vacation! 

Five minutes after I left and while I'm taking pictures at the cute squirrels i heard loud cries and shouts. Turns out the ostriches attack the kids. Waaaa! Then the pandemonium erupts! Since I'm out of the sight range from the ostriches deadma nalang hehehe.

Anyhu, besides the ostriches there are bunch of ducks in Nami Island. Cute ducks that is. And they're adorable! And safe to touch ahahaha!

But the main star of the day is the playful Squirrels! Pardon me for my ignorance pero it's the first time i saw such creature. And they are so cute and kulit! And patay-gutom! LoL!

Patay gutom in the sense that they will come to you unless you have food! Here is a girl who tried to fed the hungry squirrel but unfortunately it doesn't like bread. And the reason why he goes to me (and my bag) is because he smells my cookies pala! Waaaaa!

Another interesting sights in Nami island is the display of traditional/ paleolithic inspired house which is made of thick hay. I bet bawal magluto sa loob dito or else abo ang ending ng haus nio. =P

One of the famous sights in Nami Island is the snow couple made from "Endless Love". Again (disclaimer) I didn't know the whole story bakit sila gumawa ng snow dolls pero I think they are cute. Hehehe.

Many love struck tourist writes their name on the table. Unfortunately I did wrote mine as well. hahahaha. Now I'm very eager to go back to that place to erased what i've written. LoL!

If by any chance, you fall in love and fall out of love, remember it's not the end of the world. Just move on and learn from that lesson. It's better than sulking and clinging for it.

Nami Island Blitzkrieg

First and foremost I was not a fan of Endless Love (both the Summer and Winter season) but just for curiosity and for a possible photo-op I still put in my itinerary to visit Nami Island just for fun.

It was a daring task. My plan is to leave Seoul as early as 7am and must be back by 2pm to join the tour group at Changdeokgung Temple. Talk about tight schedule.

So I did woke up at 6am (habang naghihilik pa yung ka-dorm mate ko) ate a simple breakfast then off to the subway at 6:45am. It was a 2 hour train ride, 3 train stations hop on-hop off, and a few missed train until i arrived at the station where i took a 5 minute cab ride to the ferry station to Nami Island.

And here I was! Dyaran!!

The Zip Wire (its a zip line from the ferry terminal to Nami Island) was still closed when I arrived so I didn't push through with it. Sayang! Anyhow mahal naman yung Zip line nila versus taking the ferry. Hahaha.

Super Foggy morning!

 We have to wait for the ferry to return to the terminal, and together with me are a bunch of elementary students. Ang kukulit nila! So i just focused myself on the bonsai trees located on the jetty. So Japanese inspired lang ang dating. The fog, lake, and the tree makes a dreamy combination that makes you think "am I dreaming, am i real, am i here? (what?)"

Did I say I'm with a bunch of makukulit na mga bagets??!

Besides the kiddos, there are some foreigners (mostly Indonesians) who are with us on the trip. Ang cool right??!

After a 5 minute boat ride we are here in Namirara Island (a.k.a. Nami Island) Yahoo!!

As I say earlier, the place became famous for it was the location of Endless Love, most specially the Winter Sonata season,  hence the image of the Snowman and woman figure all over the place. I didn't know and I don't care what does it mean pero mukhang cute naman sha.

I'm lucky to be at SK during the last week of Cherry Blossoms and it was abundant on Nami Island. Im so happy to see this wonderful flowers in person! Parang sosyal na kapatid lang ng Bougainvillea!

And the Koreans has a thing on stacking stones, i dunno what does it mean. Maybe it's a about good luck or wish thingy. So kapag bumagsak yung tinayo mong mga bato ibig sabihin patay na ang winish mo (just kidding ;P )

Upon entrance sa Nami Island turning right, the first pit stop is the grave of General Nami who was the  protector of the island. It's about a certain army general who protect the island and the nearby kingdom from their enemy since the island is the entry point. The long history makes me more sleepy so i ditch the whole history and just pay my respect to the courageous general =D

And after the cemetery is the most famous pine tree lined area in the whole wide world! No kidding! It's the most recognizable location in all Koreanovela ever produced hahaha. I have to admit the place looks serene and it has some romantic effect. I will definitely go back here in the exact place together with my girl and I will have that "love shot" right here. (insert itaga mo sa bato).

The adventure didn't stop there, next post if the different animals of Nami Island and how did I judge the bagets as makukulets. Abangan! =D

Bucket List of cities I want to visit

While me, mikko and cres were on our way to Tagaytay earlier mikko mentioned about her bucket list, places she want to visit.

Which makes me think, what are my bucket list, places I want to visit din? In short nakikiuso Lang ako Lol!

Anyhow here are the top 6 places I want to visit on 2013. If time permits I could visit them next year.

1. London - I want to see the Big Ben and the Parliament building. I would like to jog along the River Thames and see the London Eye. While in London why not try the clubbing scene and the famous Bar experience (shempre pure clean fun lang dapat hehehe)

2. New York - as Dom said last night that the place is iconic, well it is actually. Places in mind to visits are Times Square, Ellis island, will watch Wicked at Broadway, jog at Central Park and eat the new York style hotdog sandwich. Babaw ng kaligayahan ko noh?

3. Tokyo - yes I've been fascinated with Jpop since I was a kid (hello Bioman,Shaider,mask Rider black) and now na abot kamay nalang ang Japan (thank you Jphil lol) I can visit the Tokyo tower and the Tokyo metropolis-pedestrian thingy area. Dun palang masaya nako. I think I will skipped the temple and castle stuff, naumay ako sa china and Korea actually. Lol! I want to try the spa and got baths in Japan as well, I heard its world famous daw.

4. Moscow- St basil cathedral and the Kremlin, need I say more? Oh and I want to try the Russian vodka, I heard its very strong. Vidka abc caviar I want to try in Russia and watch a classical ballet by their famous ballet orchestra. That would be great siguro.

5. Ho Chin Minh-Siem Reap-Luang Prabang - the golden triangle of the Mekong. I wonder what's In store for us in this trip? Surely there are more sights to see besides the Angkor Wat and the Vietnamese war museum. Can't wait to find them!

6. Sydney-Auckland - the southern hemisphere has always been fascinate me. With its quirky and ever changing weather, good food, lovely people and vibrant clubs and malls I'm sure there's a lot to see besides the Sydney opera house and the sheep in NZ. Explore new things naman and not just the usual stuff.

So, starting today I'll save enough money to go to this places next yearpati paid leaves sa office narin hahaha!

Thoughts to on a rainy day

Life is all about taking chances and pushing yourself to the limits.   God has given has the talents and gift to excel in everything that we do. Sayang naman ang talent if we don't use it diba? 


A Korean girl told me that going to Nami Island form Seoul will take time, maybe at least a whole day by bus. But after researching at the internet puede pala pumunta sa Nami island by subway and train, so i did the later. Easy!


Also before this solo vacation, work has tremendously increased sa office. But by proper management and skillful knowledge nagawa din lahat. Thank you Lord ha!


All I can say is talent makes us a succesfull person (plus prayer and faith din shempre) makes full use of it =).
