29'ers (A birthday post)
Since Im turning 29 tomorrow, here are some facts itemize from number 1 to 29 about sa buhay ko na worth remembering. It's like looking back in memory lane for me while doing this, so here it goes....
I already have One bestfriend whose always there to support me. Salamat sa supporta talaga bro!!
Dalawang beses dapat muna magring ang telepono (sa landline at office phone) before I pick it up.
Four times I was in tagaytay in my 2 week vacation sa Pinas last December and yet I haven't got a single shot of Taal Volcano!
After 1.5 yrs of out of work after grad I finally made it to JGC, 6 days din before my bday. It was like advance bday gift to me kaya i will never forget that day.
7:00 am Sunday mass me and my family consistently attend to from elementary to 2nd yr highschool. When I turned 3rd year I decided to go to church with my friends na (shempre binata na!)
8:30 pm ang sleeping time ko (that is kung walang PM, fellowship, gimik, galing sa gym, may tutorial, walang magandang palabas sa cable, walang internet connection sa bahay).
Nuebe de pebrero is a significant day in Mandaluyong City kaya holiday sa kanila every Feb. 9. This is the day they we're liberated from the Japanese. When I was in college I avoid travelling in Boni Avenue kasi matraffic due to parade. Not the best way to spend my birthday diba?
Next thing we know due to high winds nasira yung tent namin and we slept under the moon and the stars. It was awesome to sleep in the wild! Very memorable and i enjoy it so much!ROTC rules!!
12 bottles of San Mig light/pilsen ang kaya kong ubusin sa isang upuan without any "tama" nung kabataan ko pa. Ngayon ay social drinker nalang ako (yihie bagong buhay!) pero pag may magyaya edi gogogo parin!
Thirteen pesos ang pamsahe sa PNR tren from Alabang to Sta. Mesa Manila. Ito ang mode of transportation ko when i was in 3rd and 4th year college. During this time a friendship blooms and relationship develops. Good times it was.
15 minutes running in threadmill is equal to 100 calories spent and 2 kilometers walk at with category 8 speed.
Seventeen yrs old when I discover the wonderful world of Internet!
My fave shows are Click and Hard talk.
Twenty minutes ag byahe from our house in Las pinas to our office in Alabang.Thank God for BF homes sticker I can pass through BF as shortcut and never use Alabang Zapote road (it will take me 30-40 minutes if i use AZ road).
21 minutes ang each episodes nga Family guy and American dad. Both made by seth macfarlane and i have th ecomplete episodes in each season sa ipod ko. I just love that cartoon.
22 or should i say actually is 2.25 grade I've got in Industrial Plant Design. What struck me is my drawing is like a matchstick person, not an engineer type of work but I did submit it on time. Others have their work beautifuly and artistically done but they submit it late. In the end, our prof failed those who submit late and the worst part it is already our last sem in college. Many did not graduated due to this failed subject. Thank God me and my friends passed.
23 major document ang dinodownload ko ngayon from client's website. Each document contains 150 pages that need to be download one-by one. It makes me go crazy!! 150 x 23 = 3450 to be download one at a time.
24 hours ang ginugugol ko sa gym for a month when I was still in Pinas.
Twenty five minutes it takes to walk from our office (or haus) to al-khobar town where we buy pandesal, go shopping, mamalengke, kain sa jollibee, bili ng load. Its a good time also to reflect or pray rosary (while walking).
26 years old I see myself getting married, when I was a teen-ager. I thought this age is the right time to get married. It was just a myth lang pala hahaha!
27 out of 67 follower sa twitter ang kakilala ko talaga. The rest are mga spam twitter account lang.
28 years old (last year lang) finally I have closure sa malaking issue sa buhay ko. Salamat kay item no. 1.
29 of february celebrant, naweweirduhan parin ako till now kung paano sila magcelebrate ng birthday kapag hindi leap year.
So ayun, 29 facts (na talagang pinag-isipan ko pa ng bonggang bongga) about me. Hope you enjoy it!! Here's to a more year of blogging and celebrating life!
And of course, all the blessings and success that i've received ay galing kay Lord, kaya para sayo Lord lahat-lahat na ito!The best ka talaga!

Ja-ja-ja- Jollibee is now open!!!!
Of course i would want to be there on their opening day. It's the "IN" thing now in Khobar and i should be there =P
So last Sunday, after begging a friend to join me in my forray in Jollibee (he doesn't want to go there coz he's not a Jollibee fan, but i can be very persuasive hehe) and see what's the fuzz is all about.
I was expecting a small crowd shuold we get there since it's already 7:30 pm but lo and behold there are 50+ people who are in line in Jollibee.
Not to mention the another 30+ people who lined in family/for girls only section. Jollibee's opening was a hit! One kababayan even told me that TFC even covered the event earlier.
Sayang, I missed the opportunity to be seen on TV.
Thank God we have a friend who's already in the line so we ask him to buy our order as well.

P Power!
Nope it's not surfing the net or chatting @ YM.
Neither is checking and updating Facebook or Twitter (though i must admit this is my 2nd favorite pastime)
It's not watching TV or listening to music.
Sirit na?
What I love to do when i have free time is to PRAY.
What? Serious?? Mwe? Di nga?? Jologs! Corny!! Baduy. So uncool!
Aminin!!
Kahit na isipin nyong "old school" or "pang-matanda" ang ginagawa ko di ninyo maikakaila na ang pagdarasal minsan ang the best way to talk to God especially pag marami kayong solitary moments (tama ba ako King??!)
I admit, i'm the least person in the world na mahihilig sa pagdarasal. A few years ago (especially nung nag-aaral pako) I only pray pag may exam, or pag maysakit ako, or kung gusto ko ng isang bagay, or pag nasa simbahan. You know, the typical scenarios where prayer is needed. Hindi sha pang-araw araw na gawain. We are raised though as a catholic, even studied in catholic schools, but the idea or logic of being a Catholic is just like the ordinary people lang. Heck, I dont even prayed that hard when I suffered depression nung 2000-something nor when I was in Iran where I get caught in a emotional roller coaster relationship. In short hindi ako madasalin.
Come 2008, i was exposed in spiritual awakening which leads me to my catholic community now and greatly affect my spiritual life (see my previous posts about it). And before I was assigned here in Saudi my bestfriend/brother/soon-to-be-priest Floro asked me to pray the rosary daily. He's a Marian devotee and he explain to me the wonders of praying the rosary. And i must admit he was right! I believe God has work his miracle now with me while im here in Saudi. With constant prayer + rosary I believe he leads me out from temptation and kapahamakan (teka ano nga ba english word nito?hahaha). So now, everyday(9except weekend) I always get up early just to say my rosary and morning prayer, para maganda ang simula ng araw.
Kapag nagpupunta ako sa downtown Khobar mula sa opisina namin, i make it a point to say the rosary. He sing while he's walking pero silent singing ang ginagawa nya shempre..or else baka mapagkalamalan shang baliw or else hulihin sha ng pulis!
Since bawal ang religion natin dito pinalakas ko nalang ang personal prayer and worship to him.
I'll not go into details kasi makokornihan na kayo pero one thing for sure, God do really hear our prayers.
So ang advice ko lang sa mga ka-bloggers ko, pray always to god, and when your prayer is answered dont forget to say thank you to him ok =D.

p.s.
i pray to god also before i go back here sa saudi na sana makalusot sa xray ng saudi ung mga devotional books ko.sana hindi maconfiscate.lalo na ung christmas gift sa akin ni bestfriend na rosary at daily bible reading. and thank god nakalusot naman sha sa airport.yahoo! god is great talaga!

Ba..Baa Bakasyon sa Bahrain!
Our original plan was really to go to Syria and Jordan, but due to visa delays it was not push through. And Thank God again it didnt materialize because during the Eid hoildays there were bomb attack in Damascus main bus station.
Moving on, we started our trip from Al-Khobar to Bahrain on Thursday afternoon and leave Bahrain Saturday afternoon. Lots of pictures i took from the camera that i borrowed and saved it on my laptop but after a couple of minutes of downloading suddenly my laptop got a virus! So ayun deleted lahat ng pics from the camera. (wawa!). Only remaining pics we're the one taken from my cellfone and from a friend's camera (thanks raymond for the pics!).
Lesson learned:
1. install a more reliable anti-virus
2. buy my own dlsr!
Anyhow let me share you what I did in 2 days 2 night stay in Bahrain.
1. King Fadh Causeway
This magnificent bridge was built since 1988 pa ata, and is a source of tourist attraction sa mga taga Al Khobar. Malapit sa boundary there is Starbucks, McDo, and many other fast food.
Immigration area of Saudi Arabia
Sunset over the Causeway
2. The Gold Souq Mall
Gold, Gold, Gold everywhere! =(
According to my friend, mas mahal ang ginto sa bahrain compare to Saudi. And until now im wondering, saan ba nanggagaling ang ginto dito sa middle east at sobrang dami nila? From Iran to UAE to Qatar and Saudi ang daming ginto!
2. I love you Pork
But in Bahrain, dahil mabait yung hari nila, eh allowed ang baboy sa bansa nila. Kaya when we had our first dinner in Manama bumili kami ng baboy and we cook it as lechon kawali and sinigang. It was heaven i tell you =D.
3. Twisted in Twister
After we had our dinner, its time to paint the town red! And what better way to celebrate gimik night?what else edi sa Twister Bar!
A common hangout ng mga pinoy young and old alikes is Twister bar located in Ramada hotel in Manama. Para kalang nasa Malate kasi puro Pinoy, and the band are all Pinoy. Galing! Word class talaga ang talent natin!
Entrance is free and you don't need to buy a drink to be there. I've met a lot of Pinoys in Twister. The place is so cool we even returned the next evening, and still we found the same peple/crowd there. Mga gimikero! LOL!
Hindi ba halatang enjoy?
4. A very memorable First Sunday of Advent @ Sacred Heart Church
Kinabukasan, Friday, together with the owner of the house we went to the largest and one of the Catholic church in Manama. It was a happy feeling to be in the Lord's house once again after almost 6 months of non worshipping in his house. The message of the sermon is "the Lord will provide".Galing!
5. I left my heart in Manama City
Manama is a beautiful place. Ang gagara ng mga buildings. He may not be as popular destination as Doha or Dubai but steadily Manama is being recognized as "business friendly" country in the Gulf. Being an open city gives them advantage from neighboring countries. That's why a lot of expats from Saudi Arabai and Kuwait goes to Bahrain for a weekend R and R. A sight to see in Manama is the Al fateh Mosque, which is the biggest mosque in the country.A good thing about this mosque is it is open to the public even to Non Muslim. Sayang when we visit the place it was closed for tourist. Nagtyaga nalang kami sa labas to ake picture.
City Hall ng Manama?
Al-Fateh Mosque6. On Guard at the Arad Fort
Before we end our trip sa Bahrain, shempre we shouldn't miss visiting the famous Arad Fort of Bahrain. It's an early structure build by the sea rulers of Bahrain, to protect their area and pearl industry from pirates. Its only a small fort but considered to be the oldest structure in their country. Its so cool to visit and actually walk on the same area where sinaunang Bahraini used to walk and maybe sometimes defend their land from pirates. Good timing ang pagbisita namin dahil konti lang ang tourist, so hindi matao at parang malaki naming playground ang Arad Fort.Lol!
Sir Jon and Me on top of the tower
The bay in front of the Fort
Arad Fort
Prayer carpets used in the afternoon Sala in Arad Fort
In conclusion, the trip was worth it! I love the way of life in Bahrain, parang Pinas lang kasi, they can go to church, eat pork, uminom ng alak, just like normal Piinoys do in Pinas. And after 3 years ngayon lang ako ulit nakabalik ng Bar w/ dancefloor, nostalgic talaga!. Though its a good thing this is prohibited in Saudi kasi at least nakaktipid kami hehe. If ever somebody asked me to join him to Bahrain for a weekend get-away man lang, ang isasagot ko..."Tara na!".

Gala @ Manama

Guess where I'm going?
Though the planned R & R on hajj is still on, but with a different country nalang, much closer and i believe is much fun and exciting.
Can you guess where it is??

Kung sino man makakahula ng lugar na ito, ililibre ko ng kabsa with 1/2 chicken plus kabos at 20 riyals na pan de coco from queens bakery.

Let's Sing It!
And after checking the songbook, voila, meron nga..yahoo!
TILL MY HEART ACHES END
I recall when you said that you would never leave me
You told me more, so much more like when the time you whispered in my ear
There was heaven in my heart
I remember when you said that you'd be here forever
Then you left without even saying that you're leaving
I was hurt and it really won't be easy to forget yesterday
And I pray that you would stay
But then you're gone and, oh, so far away
CHORUS
I was afraid this time would come
I wasn't prepared to face this kind of hurtin' from within
I have learned to live my life beside you
Maybe I'll just dream of you tonight
And if into my dream you'll come and touch me once again
I'll just keep on dreaming till my heartaches end
And then you left without even saying that you're leaving
I was hurt and it really won't be easy to forget yesterday
And I pray that you would stay
But then you're gone and, oh, so far away
[Repeat CHORUS]
AD LIB
Woh oh yeah
[Repeat CHORUS]
CODA
Keep on dreaming till my heartaches end...
Ang drama anoh?
Seriously, this song is very sentimental to me, The first time I sang this was before I graduated from college. I have a premonition at that time that my relationship with someone would end up just like what stated in the second paragraph of the lyrics. And ayun nga, after graduation it did happened to me . Sigh. =(.
Eventhough the break-up was indeed painful, i managed to survive it and now we're very good friends. And everytime i sing this song i always remember to keep in mind that whenever a relationship end we should always move on. Mourn for it for a week, cry if you like, maglabas ka ng sama ng loob pero after that we must still move on.
Thank God I did and now I'm happy =D.
